Minecraft AFK Hosting: PC, VPS or Hosted Bot

Leaving your PC on, running a bot on a VPS, or using a hosted Minecraft AFK bot: an honest comparison of cost, setup, and when each one is the right choice.

There are three common ways to keep a Minecraft account online while you are away. This guide compares them honestly, including where a hosted bot is the wrong choice.

When leaving your PC on is right

You need the real game: an AFK fishing setup, a task a macro cannot do, or anything on a version other than 26.2.

When a VPS is right

You want full control and are comfortable with a terminal. You can run scripted bots that move, mine, or trade. You also take on the updates, the monitoring, and the debugging when the server changes something.

When a hosted bot is right

You want the account to stay on the server, see chat, and be told when something goes wrong, without running anything yourself. Typical cases:

  • Keeping the chunks around a farm loaded
  • Holding a place on a busy server
  • Staying reachable in chat while away from your PC

What you get here

  • A bot running on our servers, with Anti-AFK and auto-reconnect on by default
  • Live chat and commands in the browser
  • Push and Discord alerts when the bot stops and cannot get back on its own
  • Macros (in beta) that click, attack, or walk, on a Tip boost or subscription
  • Your own HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy per bot, with a rotating pool

What it costs

  • Free: 15 minutes of AFK time a day, 3 hours for Discord members. One bot online at a time.
  • Tip boost: a one-time $4 tip gives 30 days of unlimited AFK with Starter limits (1 bot and the premium tools).
  • Subscription: unlimited AFK, every premium tool, and 1, 3, or 8 bots online at once.

Current prices are on Plans, and Features shows each tool.

A note on your account

Whichever option you choose, check the rules of the server you join. Some servers do not allow AFK accounts at all. With a hosted bot, Microsoft sign-in uses a one-time code on Microsoft's own page, so your password is never typed into this site.
