Set Up a Free Minecraft AFK Bot

Set up a free Minecraft AFK bot in a few minutes: what you need, how to add your server and account, and what to do when the bot does not connect.

3 min readUpdated

This guide takes you from no account to a bot on your server, using only the Free plan. It takes a few minutes, and you do not need a card.

What the Free plan gives you

  • One bot online at a time, and up to 3 saved bots
  • 15 minutes of AFK time a day, or 3 hours if you have joined our Discord server
  • Live chat and commands, Anti-AFK, auto-reconnect, post-spawn commands, and the activity history
  • One daily spin for extra AFK time (two as a Discord member)

The daily AFK time resets at midnight UTC. Inventory, the players list, radar, server menus, and running macros need a Tip boost or a subscription. See Plans for the full table.

Before you start

  1. A Java Edition server on Minecraft 26.2. The bot only speaks 26.2 and detects it on its own, so there is no version to pick. Bedrock servers are not supported.
  2. The server address, and the port if it is not 25565.
  3. An account to connect with. A Microsoft account for normal servers, or just a username for servers that run in offline mode.

Step 1: Create your account

Open the sign-in page and continue with Google or Discord. Your account is created the first time you sign in.

Step 2: Add your server

Go to Servers and save the server address as a server profile. Every bot you make later can reuse it, so you only type the address once.

Step 3: Create a bot

On the Bots page, add a bot and pick how it signs in:

  • Microsoft. You get a short code. Open microsoft.com/link, enter the code, and approve. Your password goes to Microsoft only. The code expires after a few minutes, and New code gives you a fresh one.
  • Offline. Type the username. This only works on servers that do not verify accounts with Microsoft.

Step 4: Press Start

Pick the saved server and press Start. The status moves from Connecting to Online. The bot appears where that account last logged out, so if you want it at a specific spot, log in with the game first, walk there, and log out.

You can now close the tab. The bot stays on the server until you stop it or your daily AFK time runs out.
