Minecraft Anti-AFK Settings Explained

What each Minecraft Anti-AFK setting does, which behavior and interval to pick, and what to try, step by step, when a server still kicks your idle bot.

2 min readUpdated

Many servers kick players who do nothing for a few minutes. Anti-AFK makes the bot do something small on a timer so the server sees activity. It is on by default and free on every plan, next to the other automation features. This guide explains each setting and what to try when a server still kicks you.

Where the settings are

Open your bot, go to Plugins, then Anti-AFK. Changes save as you make them and apply to a running bot right away, with no restart.

Behavior

Timing

  • Every N minutes. From 1 to 15. The default is 4. Set it below the server's kick timer. If the server kicks after 5 minutes idle, use 3 or 4.
  • Randomize ± 10 s jitter. Shifts each cycle by up to ten seconds so the timing is not perfectly regular. Leave it on.
  • Run command each cycle. Sends one command on every cycle. Useful on servers with an AFK check that expects a command, or to refresh something like /afk. Leave it empty if you do not need it.

Still getting kicked?

Work through these in order.

  1. Check the reason. The bot's Activity page shows why each session ended. An idle kick names itself. A kick for something else needs a different fix.
  2. Shorten the interval. Go to 1 or 2 minutes.
  3. Switch to Sneak briefly.
  4. Add a cycle command. Some servers only count chat or commands as activity.
  5. Turn on Physics. In the bot's Plugins list, Physics lets the bot's body react to the world. Servers that test whether a player falls or gets pushed can tell the difference. It also unlocks the Jump action.

If none of that works, the server is probably checking for real movement between places or asking a question in chat. Anti-AFK does not walk the bot around, and the bot does not answer captchas. With a Tip boost or a subscription, a macro can walk the bot between spots once Physics is on.

Check the rules first

Anti-AFK exists to keep a slot you are entitled to. Some servers forbid AFK accounts outright. Read the server's rules. If AFK is not allowed there, no setting makes it allowed.
