Keeping a bot online for days is not one setting. It means removing each thing that can end a session. This guide lists them all, with the fix for each.
The short version
| What ends a session | Fix |
|---|---|
| Daily AFK limit on the Free plan | Tip boost or a subscription |
| Server kicks idle players | Anti-AFK, on by default |
| Server restarts | Auto-reconnect, on by default |
Server asks for /login after joining | Server Login plugin |
| Server sends you to a lobby | Auto-rejoin |
| Microsoft sign-in lapses | Re-link when prompted |
| You log in with the game | Stop the bot first |
1. Remove the daily limit
The Free plan gives 15 minutes of AFK time a day, or 3 hours for Discord members. That is the first thing to stop an all-day session. A Tip boost ($4 for 30 days) or any subscription makes AFK time unlimited. See Plans.
2. Keep the server from kicking you
Anti-AFK is on for every new bot. If your server kicks quickly, shorten the interval. The Anti-AFK guide covers every setting.
3. Survive restarts
Most servers restart at least once a day. With Auto-Reconnect on in the bot's settings, the bot retries on its own. When our own servers restart for maintenance, bots that were online come back without you doing anything.
4. Get back to the right place after rejoining
A reconnect only helps if the bot ends up where it was.
- Post-Spawn Actions. Up to 20 commands sent right after joining. Use it for
/server survivalor/home. - Server Login. The password for a server's login or register window, set once on the bot's Plugins page.
- Auto-Rejoin. For networks that move you to a hub when a backend restarts. The bot watches chat for lobby messages and sends your rejoin commands.
Details are in the auto-reconnect guide.
5. Keep the Microsoft sign-in valid
Microsoft sign-ins eventually expire. When that happens the bot shows Auth required and stays offline until you re-link the account, which takes a minute. Check the Bots page now and then: the status there tells you.
6. Do not share the session
One account, one session. Joining with the game while the bot is online disconnects one of them. Press Stop before you play, and Start when you are done.
Check that it is working
Open the bot's Activity page after a day. Every disconnect is listed with its reason. If the same reason repeats, that is the item on this list you still need to fix. For a bot that stops for good, turn on browser push in Settings or link Discord to get an alert.
What 24/7 cannot mean
No hosted bot can stay through a server that is down, a ban, or a full server with no free slot. In those cases the dashboard tells you why. Short questions about plans and accounts are answered in the FAQ.
